Permanently Rejuvenize
We cannot stop the aging process, but that doesn’t mean we have to leave our youthful looks behind for good as we get older. Luckily, there is an amazing way to diminish the signs of aging on our faces in a highly effective and long-lasting way. When performed by a highly skilled plastic surgeon, like Dr. Yco at Your Cosmetic Office,
a DEEP plane facelift offers an incredible, nearly permanent, way to minimize the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin. A facelift procedure that addresses the whole face rather than just specific parts of it, a DEEP plane facelift provides comprehensive anti-aging to the face.
What Is a DEEP Plane Facelift?
Just like the name of the procedure suggests, a DEEP plane facelift addresses the muscles, tissues, and structures deeper in the face when compared to other types of facelifts. During this procedure, Dr. Yco will reposition the tissue, muscle, and structure of the face by lifting ligaments and gently lifting the submuscular aponeurosis system (SMAS) up and back. By addressing the signs of aging on the superficial layer of skin with a deeper approach, this procedure provides more natural-looking lifted results, staying away from a too-tight look. During this type of facelift, surgeons may also reposition the fat pads of the cheeks to allow for a more lifted and defined look. In this, a DEEP plane facelift can address the upper, mid, and lower parts of the face, depending on your aesthetic desires.
Who Is a Candidate for a DEEP Plane Facelift?
The best candidates for any type of facelift are those individuals who are in good health and do not have any medical conditions that may interfere with the healing process. Having a positive outlook and realistic expectations regarding the results of the procedure is very important as well. It is also recommended that facelifts be performed on nonsmokers. By scheduling a consultation with Dr. Yco, he will best be able to determine whether or not you are a candidate for a DEEP plane facelift.
PATIENT TESTIMONIALS: THE IMPACT OF YCO
The DEEP Plane Facelift Procedure
During a DEEP plane facelift, you will be put under general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Dr. Yco will make an incision at the top of your temple that begins at the hairline and continues down around the earlobe and ends at behind the ear. The deep layers of skin and muscle are lifted and pulled up and back towards the incision site before the excess skin is trimmed off and sutures are made to hold the face in place. A fat transfer may also me recommended.
Post-Op Care
After a DEEP plane facelift your face will be bandaged to reduce swelling and to keep the treatment site clean. In some cases, tiny tubes may be placed under the skin to drain excess fluid and blood. Dr. Yco will provide you with specific instructions regarding when to take your medication, when you can remove any bandages, when your stitches will come out, and when you will be able to resume normal daily activities again. In most cases, you can expect to see bruising and feel some discomfort for up to three weeks after surgery. The entire recovery process can take up to three months before the final results are visible. If Dr. Yco feels your recovery could use a boost, he may suggest hyperbaric Co2 or redlight therapy to aid in healing.
