What Is an S-Lift?
An S-lift procedure gets its name from the shape of the incision made during surgery. This is an ideal procedure for more targeted facial rejuvenation that is conveniently less invasive than a traditional facelift. This procedure is comparable to a mini-facelift but relies on a different incision to pull the skin and tissue back in order to achieve a more taut appearance. The S-Lift Procedure
You will be given a local anesthetic for an S-lift that will prevent you from feeling any discomfort during the procedure. In some cases, patients will be given a mild sedative to help them relax during the procedure, but a consultation with Dr. Yco will better inform you of what sedatives will be used for your procedure.
To begin the procedure an S-shaped incision is made in the area in front of the ear. This allows for minimal scarring after the incision has healed. The skin is then lifted, and the underlying muscle and tissue are repositioned in a more youthful way before being sutured in place. The duration of this procedure is between 60-90 minutes and results can last up to 10 years. An S-lift can be combined with many other different facial rejuvenation procedures, such as blepharoplasty or dermal fillers.
Post-Op Care
It is recommended that you take anywhere from 5-7 days off of work after an S-lift procedure to allow for your recovery. It may take 3-5 days for the bruising and swelling that appears after surgery to fade. Any pain or discomfort that lingers after leaving Your Cosmetic Office can be managed with over-the-counter pain medication. Around 5-7 days after surgery, you will return to see Dr. Yco so that he can remove your stitches. You will have to wait around 2 weeks before resuming any strenuous activities or exercises. For faster healing, Dr. Yco may refer you to have hyperbaric Co2 treatments or red light therapy.
