Mid-Facelift

Mid-Facelift-  If your cheeks are sagging or have flattened over the years, if your lower eyelids are puffy with dark circles or have “hollowed out”, or if your smile lines have deepened you’re probably a good candidate for a midface lift.  Of course the best way to determine if a midface lift is right for you is by consulting with Dr. Yco.

The Endotine Midface lift is a new approach that gives surgeons the ability to easily restore sagging cheek volume to its more youthful position by using a temporary bioabsorbable implant, instead of sutures.  The Endotine Midface lift offers three different ways to establish a more natural, rejuvenated look.  Each approach offers different incision locations (above the ear, above the lower eyelid, or through the underside of the upper lip) so if you’re considering midface rejuvenation with another procedure or just the midface alone, one approach may be better for your particular needs.

The Midface Endotine allows Dr. Yco to more accurately reposition your cheek while securely holding the soft tissue in position during the critical, early stages of healing. The result can be a lifted midface with reduction of the smile lines (nasolabial folds) resulting in a more youthful expression.    Dr. Yco can help you select the best technique suited to your particular situation.

Upon completion of the surgery, you will be monitored in the post anesthesia recovery area until you feel well enough for discharge home.  The majority of patients do not experience any significant pain, however, analgesic medications can be given as needed for post operative discomfort.  You will experience a certain amount of swelling and bruising in the midface and temple area for a 10 day period following surgery.  A small, limited number of patients have experienced a “slight puffiness” that may last several months and gradually fades over four to six weeks.   As the incisions heal, you may experience some numbness as well as itching, both of which will diminish with time.  A soft  diet is recommended for the first 3 to 4 days.  For most patients, the recovery time will not exceed two weeks, but patients may still be advised to avoid strenuous activities for longer periods.

Whether the surgery is desired for functional or cosmetic reasons, your choice of a qualified facial plastic surgeon is of paramount importance.  Dr. Yco is double board certified in both otolaryngology (ear, nose, throat), and facial plastic surgery, which provides you with the benefits of both functional and aesthetic expertise.

Realistic expectations coupled with the proper analysis and surgical execution assures the greatest success in surgery.
