What Is Tip Reduction?
Tip reduction is a type of targeted rhinoplasty procedure designed to reshape and refine the nasal tip. This specialized form of rhinoplasty focuses on addressing concerns related to the shape, size, or projection of the tip of the nose. Who Is a Candidate for Tip Reduction?
You may be a candidate for tip reduction if you have and wish to correct any of the following concerns:

As with any surgical procedure, it is important that you are in good overall health and maintain realistic expectations before booking your procedure. Tip Reduction Procedure
You will be under general anesthesia during your tip reduction procedure so you will not feel a thing. Depending on the extent of reconstruction required to meet your aesthetic goal, Dr. Yco will use one of two approaches to reshape the tip of your nose. A closed approach relies on incisions made on the inside of the nostrils, while an open approach relies on external incisions. To reduce the size of a bulbous nose tip, excess soft tissue will be removed and sculpted. For those wishing to add more volume to a pointy nose tip, a cartilage graft will be inserted in the tip of the nose.
Post-Op Care
Immediately following surgery, you will experience some slight swelling and bruising, but these will fade after a few days. A full recovery usually takes around two weeks, during which time you will be advised to avoid any activities that may put pressure on the tip of the nose, including strenuous or vigorous exercise. To optimize your healing progress, Dr. Yco may refer you to have hyperbaric Co2 treatments or red light therapy.
