What Is Ellacor?
Ellacor system with micro-coring technology is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenating treatment that utilizes a technique called micro-coring to tighten the skin. The device uses fine, hollow needles to safely remove tiny plugs of skin from the treatment area, resulting in the improved appearance of moderate to severe wrinkles in the mid-face. Ellacor Procedure
Before the procedure, we will apply a numbing cream to the areas to be treated (for up to an hour), followed by an injection by Dr. Yco of a local anesthetic to ensure that the procedure is pain-free. Next, he will place the Ellacor automated handpiece on the skin as it punches in a 10 x 10 mm area with hollow fine needles. The needles will “core” the skin, removing tiny plugs of skin as the handpiece is moved over the treatment area. After Dr. Yco is finished coring the skin, he will gently cleanse it before applying a soothing serum. Treatment usually takes around 30 minutes.
Post-Op Care
Immediately after Ellacor treatments in Carlsbad, you will notice swelling, redness, and some bruising. This is normal and should be resolved over the course of the next few days. Dr. Yco prefers that for the first 2 days, you just use a gentle cleanser and hydrogen peroxide to remove crusts and cores, which may be left over from the procedure, 3-4 times daily. However, you may start using a protective ointment such as petroleum jelly or Aquaphor if your skin feels too dry. For optimal results, most patients need around 2-3 Ellacor procedures, each spaced one month apart.
