The Neck Lift Procedure

During a neck lift procedure you will be given a general anesthetic so you will not feel a thing. This anesthetic will cause you to sleep through the procedure and wake up to a more youthful you. To start Dr. Yco will make a small incision under the chin to view the tissue and muscles under the skin. He will then reposition the skin in a more aesthetically pleasing and youthful way before suturing you back up.

Post-Op Care

The beginning of your recovery from neck lift surgery takes 4-10 days for initial swelling and bruising to subside. You’ll have a bandage under your chin and around your head for at least a day after surgery. Once you remove the bandage, it’s critical to wear a medical chin strap at night for two weeks. You will want to keep your head elevated to reduce swelling and inflammation. It’s important to follow Dr. Yco’s recovery instructions carefully so as to optimize your healing process. After 7-10 days, Dr. Yco will remove your sutures and you will be able to resume your daily activities. Over the next several months, you’ll notice smoother, more supple skin under your neck. Final results, including a more youthful neck contour, will become visible when swelling goes down.

If Dr. Yco feels your recovery is not progressing as quickly as he would like, he may refer you to have hyperbaric Co2 treatments or redlight therapy.
